Dear Dyersburg FUMC Family,
Last Sunday in worship I prayed for peace for our country, for comfort for the families of those who lost their lives last Wednesday, and for wisdom for our leaders in this time of chaos and disruption. In my sermon I referenced the brokenness of our country that can only be healed by the unleashing of the Holy Spirit. Today I share more pointed words about our country’s situation—on the heels of terror and violence last Wednesday we are now aware that the FBI is warning of the possibility of armed insurrection in all 50 state capital cities in the days leading up to the presidential inauguration on January 20.Read more ...
This Week in Youth:

We are currently in the midst of a three week study called Moods. Emotions are a lot, not just for youth but anyone. One thing I want to make clear (out of many things) is that emotions are not a bad thing. Beyond that, no emotion is inherently bad. God designed us with our emotions for a reason. They help us enjoy life, they help us process, they help keep us safe, and they can be a great equalizer. We all feel things. God’s emotions are all over the pages of the Old Testament, and Jesus’ are contained in the Gospels. Emotions that are handled in a healthy way are great things.Read more ...
We're so excited to be going back in person this Sunday (1/17). We'll have Children's Church during the 10 am service. We'll also have Blankets from 6-7pm in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday, January 17, Confirmation Classes begin. We will meet in the Koinonia classroom by the Fellowship Hall from 5:30 -7:00 p.m.
Join us this Sunday, January 10 at 10 am for online worship. We will not have an in-person service this week. We plan to meet in-person starting January 17.
Registration for church members will begin January 19. Registration for currently enrolled students begins on January 26. Registration will be opened to the public on February 1.
Registration forms will be available at the preschool. Students should have their birthday by August 15, 2021, to register for the 2021-2022 School Year.
